Conducting Studio Zagreb is a non-profit artistic organisation based in Zagreb, Croatia, founded by a duo of friends, violinist and conductor Petromila Jakas and singer and conductor Nika Kožar.

We organise conducting masterclasses with a rotating base of mentors who are all accomplished conductors renowned in Europe and the world. These are all conductors we have worked with ourselves and can vouch for. Our role as organisers is to facilitate a smooth flow during our masterclasses for both the visiting conductors and the participants, ensure that everything is running as it should, and provide a high-quality experience for everyone involved.

Our masterclasses are all made in collaboration with the Conducting Studio Zagreb Orchestra, which is an orchestra we founded, comprised of people we have worked with and know very well — each orchestra member was hand-picked by us. We believe masterclasses should be a safe space for developing conductors to explore their gesture, communicate, and feel free to experiment, and the CSZ Orchestra will ensure that is the case. Podium time with a professional orchestra is very valuable, so we make sure to provide as much of it as possible for all participants.
